Gail J. Hise, 63, of Rapid City, died Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Gail was born on August 28, 1953 in Rapid City to Duane and Delores (Kistler) Coffing. She grew up in Rapid City, attending Annie Talent Elementary, South Jr. High and graduated from Rapid City Central in1971.

Gail met her future husband, Bruce, while they were both employed at Western Meats. She served as Office Manager at Western Meats/Buffalo for 37 years.

Gail and Bruce were married on January 27, 1982, in Rapid City and they enjoyed dancing Friday and Saturday nights to country/western music. Gail enjoyed gardening, reading, as well as fishing, camping and a little hunting in their early years. Gail was a hard worker, fabulous cook, with many signature recipes, an excellent homemaker, and also enjoyed traveling. Most of all she cherished time spent with her family, hosting many family holidays at her home. Gail loved being a grandmother and especially enjoyed visiting her granddaughter, Brielle, in Denver over the last 5 years.

She is survived by her husband, Bruce, Rapid City, her children; Nicole Chapman (Matt), granddaughter Brielle, Aurora, CO , B.J. Hise, Jr.(Stephanie), Boone, IA, Amy Hise, Sturgis, Troy Hise (Alissia), Rapid City, Shawn Hise (Amie), Minneapolis, MN, eleven other grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, her twin brother, Glenn Coffing (Donna), Rapid City and her sister, Sherilyn Coffing, Rapid City and nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and an infant sister, Vicki.

A visitation will be held from 5:00pm until 7:00pm, Thursday, Mar 16, 2017 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM, Friday at the Open Bible Church with interment at Mt View Cemetery.

A memorial will be established to assist with Brielle's college fund.
