HILL CITY- Galene F. Meza, 63, of Hill City, died Sunday, September 22, 2013 at her home. She was born May 16, 1950 in Kadoka, SD to Herman and Ada (Stotts) Feddersen. She graduated from Hill City High School in 1968 and attended college at National College of Business in Rapid City. She had recently retired from her position as Super Teller at First Interstate Bank where she had worked for 17 years. Her passion was her family and especially her grandkids. She spent countless hours with her grandkids and was the best grammie ever! She enjoyed hiking, playing cards and bargain shopping at rummage sales. She loved to travel and meet new people. Everyone who knew her loved her. She would always greet everyone she saw with a hug and a smile. Three things she always said were I love you, that's totally awesome and what do you need, grammie will get it. Kenny and Galene always had an open door policy, if there was an inch, they'd make room for everyone. Survivors include the love of her life for 17 years, Ken Raga of Hill City, her extended mom and dad, Dody and Horace Raga of Hill City; her children, Tye (Eric) Kuyper of Rapid City; Torrey Meza of Rifle, CO; Jessica Meza of Rapid City; Kristi (Jeremiah) Hanna-Cruz of Rapid City; Amber Raga of Fort Leonard Wood, MO; and Raenae (Josh) Martin of Spearfish; her grandchildren, Noah and Olivia Krull, Sydney and Jacob Kuyper, Lilyana and unborn baby Gavin Hanna-Cruz , Katie Shipley, Rocco and Mateo Possomato and Tatum, Parker and Grady Martin; her brothers Gerry (Bonnie) Feddersen of Lakewood, CA, Lonnie (Patty) of Hill City, her sisters Karla (Mike) Rohde of Rockerville; Linda (Doug) Perry of Presho, SD and Ronda (Dale) Hunter of Gillette, WY; Larry (Anne) Raga of Gillette, WY and many nieces and nephews who love her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother at infancy and infant daughters, Ashley and Amber Meza. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 27, 2013 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home in Rapid City. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Hill City High School Gins Gym with the Rev. Charlie Landon and Pastor Steve Wagner officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. Interment will follow at Hill City Cemetery. Following the interment there will be a reception at the Hill City School Cafeteria. A memorial foundation has been established in her name benefitting troubled youth at First Interstate Bank in Hill City. Donations to the American Cancer Society in her name are also appreciated.
