Obituary

Gary Lee Christensen, 78, of Summerset, SD, passed away of natural causes on June 16, 2025. He was born in Aberdeen, SD, in 1946 to Hazel Rayman (Hall) and Robert Christensen.  No service is planned at this time, however, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Gary married Sharon Link shortly after high school. Together they had three daughters, Tamara, Kimberly, and Tina. He and Sharon moved to Rapid City, SD in 1971 where he successfully supported his family working as a carpet layer for Fischer Furniture for a short while. He then discovered his love and passion for real estate. He worked for several firms, but in the end, owned and operated his own business until his retirement.

He made many friends along the way. For those who knew him, he had a special sense of humor that was so contagious. He loved motorcycling  through the Black Hills and had many amazing camping adventures with the love of his life, Beverly. When Gary met her, he knew she would be the one to complete his life journey. Beverly and Gary were inseparable until the very end.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Beverly Tecklenburg Christensen, his children - Tamara McGuire (Daniel) of Rapid City, SD, Kimberly Gross (Joseph) of Bismarck, ND, Tina Moore (Mike) of Coldwater, MS, his stepchildren - Jennifer Tecklenburg of Hot Springs, SD , and Tamera Tecklenburg of Rapid City, SD. He is also survived by his three sisters - Diane Tollefson (Bruce) of Aberdeen, SD, Nancy Little of Fishers, Indiana, and Cheryl Sharp of Mesa, AZ, his grandchildren - Alexis, Nicole, Chase, Ashley, Gary, Cager, Jerrod, along with Beverly's grandchildren - Grey, Grace, Madison, Emma, Danielle, and Brandon. There are also five great grandchildren, a niece, and three nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Robert Christensen and his mother Hazel Rayman (Hall).
