Obituary

Springfield, MO - Geal Eugene Fiscus, 88, of Ozark, MO died Sunday, February 8, 2015, at James River Care and Rehabilitation Center in Springfield, MO. He was born December 14, 1926, in Gregory, SD, the son of the late Loyd S. Fiscus and Persis L. Chapin. After his 17th birthday he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country. In 2013 he received his Honorary High School Diploma. On December 14, 1954 he married Essie Lou Berry who preceded him in death on August 26, 2006. He was a former residence and spent most of his life in Rapid City, SD. He was a retired rancher, businessman, and mechanic. He was a fan of NASCAR and his favorite driver was Jeff Gordon. He enjoyed his boat and restoring old vehicles. Survivors include one sibling, Alvin Fiscus and his wife Arlene of Bozeman Montana; his wives' children Pauline Fenton and her husband Ronald of Ozark, MO, Tom Jacobs of Nevada, and Chuck Jacobs and his wife Geri of Washington; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, a brother in law, and a sister in law. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, one sister and two brothers. Visitation will be from 12 pm noon to 1 pm at the funeral home prior to the services. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Friday, February 13, 2015 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home, 2700 Jackson Boulevard, Rapid City with Rev. Wilbur Holz officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 pm at Black Hills National Cemetery with full military honors rendered by Rushmore VFW Post 1273 and United States Navy Honor Guard. Memorials may be directed to the Kidney Foundation in lieu of flowers.
