Gene Clifford Charles, 91, of Rapid City, SD passed away peacefully at home on June 12, 2025. He was raised in Frenchman Creek Valley Town, MT on the family ranch. He grew up there with his parents ( Thurlow and Belle Charles) and siblings ( Donald Charles, Nita Oversen and Russell Charles).

Gene served in the Airforce from 1951- 1974, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant. After retirement from the military he worked as a Forest Service Ranger in Nogalas, AZ and Hill City, SD. While in the military he married Bessie Kitto on June 3, 1956. They raised three beautiful daughters- Tammy Munguia, Wanda Dale and Vonda Zebroski.

Gene has been a great and loving friend, an unsung hero to several people who he helped and taught throughout his life, and a generous soul to all who needed help.

Gene is survived by his sister- Nita Oversen, brother- Russell Charles, sister-in-laws- Beverly Charles and Jeannette Kitto, daughters- Tammy Munguia and Wanda (Jeff) Dale, son-in-law- Ronnie Zebroski, several nieces and nephews, several grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.

Gene was proceeded in death by his parents- Thurlow and Belle Charles, in-laws- John and Flossie Kitto, wife- Bessie Charles, brother- Donald Charles, brother and sister-in-laws- Clyde Kitto, Bud Kitto, Bob and Barb Brown, Arlyne and Herb White, Helen Kurtenbach, daughter- Vonda Zebroski and son-in-law- Mark Munguia Sr.
