Rapid City - George F. Wendt, 100, Rapid City, passed from his earthly home to join his heavenly family on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at Westhills Village Health Care. He was born April 30, 1912 in Chamberlain, SD to August G. and Verne [Burkholder] Wendt. He was united in marriage to Eunice Peck on January 5, 1936 in Murdo, SD. George retired from Standard Oil Company in 1970 after 35 years with the company as a bulk gas and oil truck delivery driver. Survivors include his daughter: Mary Lee Miller [husband Richard deceased] of Rapid City; two sons: William [Patricia] Wendt of Lakewood, CO and Robert [Sylvia] Wendt of Centennial, CO; five grandchildren: Erlene [Martin] Errea of Black Hawk, Kenneth [Cristen] Miller of East Wenatchee, WA, Lance [Deborah] Wendt of Littleton, CO, Heather [Cory] Carwin of Montrose, CO and Amy Teran of the Caribbean Island of Curacao; seven great-grandchildren: Cheston [Vivaca] Crowser of Missoula, MT, Daniel Crowser of Missoula, MT, Chelcee and Kirby Miller of East Wenatchee, WA, Zachariah, Lyndell, and Joshua Wendt of Littleton, CO; and three great-great-grandchildren: Arden, Nora, and Holden Crowser; and numerous cousins and multitude of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Eunice Wendt on June 27, 1997, sister: Alice Olsen, grandson: Todd Miller, great-granddaughter: Cassandra Miller, and son-in-law: Richard [Dick] Miller. At George's request, there will be no funeral. There will be a private family memorial service at Pine Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery at Rapid City at a later date.
