Obituary

RAPID CITY | Georgia A. Parker, 85, passed away at  Rapid City Regional Hospital Auxiliary Hospice House on Monday, February 20, 2017.

Georgia was born on September 22, 1931, in Martinsburg, West Virginia and was the daughter of the late Clara B. Coates of Martinsburg, and the late George W. Snow of Hancock, Maryland.

Before retiring Georgia was a nursing assistant at Clarkson-Mt View Guest Home and on the maternity ward at Bennett-Clarkson Hospital in Rapid City.  Before moving to South Dakota, she worked briefly at Corning Glass and City Hospital in Martinsburg.   She was a member of the Christ Reformed Church, where she sang in the choir.

She is survived by a son, Donald E. Harden, of Hot Springs, South Dakota; 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Marvin (Peggy) Stickel, of Martinsburg; 3 half brothers, Marvin 'Pete' Snow, of Martinsburg and George and Greg Snow, both of Hancock; many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends, Mitch and Wendy Cummings, of Rapid City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles R. Parker in 2014, a son, Lewis C. 'Buddy' Harden, and a half sister, Anna Mason.

Visitation will be from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 24, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.

Her funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home with the Rev. Herb B. Cleveland officiating.

Burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery.
