Rapid City – Gilbert “Gil” Weber, 90, died Saturday, July 4, 2026.

Gilbert Andew Weber was born May 28, 1936 to Andrew and Ruth (Lippert) Weber in Tripp, South Dakota. He attended school and graduated from Tripp High School in 1954. He then entered the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1958. He married Alma Faye Holmer on December 7, 1958 in Artesian, South Dakota.

They moved to Rapid City, South Dakota where they started the Thrifty Smoke Shop and opened up several locations. They later sold the business and retired.

Gil liked fishing, hunting, gardening, anything outdoors, esp. turkey hunting.

He is survived by his wife Alma of Rapid City; one daughter Kathie (John) Markovetz of Rapid City; and one granddaughter Bryanna (Skyler) Dillion Bennett of Ranchester, Wyoming; and two great-grandson: Jeremiah and Haven.

Gil was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Pearl

His Memorial Service will be 4:00 pm Thursday, July 9 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.

Burial Service will 3:00 pm Friday, July 10 at the Grace Hill Cemetery in Tripp, South Dakota.
