Rapid City Glen O. Warren, 90, longtime Rapid City resident, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 in Grand Junction, CO. Glen Owen Warren was born June 7, 1921 at Rapid City to his parents, Tom and Dell Warren. He and his brother, Floyd, were raised on the family ranch south of Rapid City. Glen served in the Coast Guard during World War II and was married to his loving wife, Boneta Bell in 1951. Glen worked as a professional cabinet maker for many years before becoming a full time cattle rancher. He was always proud of his professions and always kept his Stetson cowboy hat close at hand. He was active in Boy Scouts, Little League and the First Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge #1187 and Rushmore VFW Post #1273. His hobbies included planting and tending his vegetable garden, woodworking, fishing, hunting and enjoying the great outdoors. Glen is survived by two sons: Craig Warren of Grand Junction, CO and Ronald Warren of Crown Point, IN; and two granddaughters; Nicole [Brad] Malcolm and Amanda Warren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and wife on September 1, 2001. Visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00 pm, Tuesday, November 15 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home, 2700 Jackson Boulevard. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Wednesday, November 16 at First Presbyterian Church, 710 Kansas Street with Howard Skip Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church.
