Rapid City – Gordon Gleed, 83, died Sunday, August 6, 2023 at his home.

Gordon Daryl Gleed was born April 12, 1940 in Fillmore, California to Gary and Kathryn (Hiller) Gleed. He attended school at Delano, CA and graduated from high school. He entered the United States Navy on July 25, 1958 and was honorably discharged on July 24, 1964 as a second class electronics technician.  After his discharge he moved to Rapid City with his best friend David Merchen. He eventually met Jeanette Miller and David met Connie Miller and they were married.

Gordy started his own business in mechanical engineering mainly focusing on commercial buildings. He retired at the age of 62. Gordy and Jeanette did extensive traveling and spend the winters in the Kerrville, Texas area near San Antonio.

He enjoyed fly fishing and golfing.

Gordon is survived by his wife Jeanette Gleed of Rapid City; one brother Dale Gleed of San Diego, CA; his best friend and Jeanette's sister: David and Connie Merchen of Rapid City.

Gordy was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and one brother.

At Gordy's request there will be no public funeral services at this time but there will be a Celebration of Life Get-Together at a later time.
