Gregory Paul Mahoney went home to be with his heavenly Father on, January 27, 2024, at Monument Health, Rapid City Hospital.

Greg was born on January 4, 1956, and is the 4th of 5 children born to Richard James and Elda Mahoney. He graduated from Stevens High School in 1974 where he was the captain of the football team his senior year. He enjoyed many hours throwing the baseball in the back yard with his dad and brothers Pat and Paul.  He had fond memories of pitching Little League, Pony, Colt and Legion being coached by Warren Hickey and Jim Brandt. He was so proud of winning against Post 22, a score of 8-2 in 1974. The highlight of his baseball career was playing, Amateur baseball for Pat Hall's team The Gregs. He also enjoyed hunting trips with Ryan, Pat and long-time friend Sue Bruce, He loved watching Megan Mahoney play basketball for Kansas State, whether it was live or watching on TV with friends.

Greg and Sue spent many years growing together and fixing up his beloved house. He was a Mason, so lots and lots of block walls were laid up with her as his "Hoddie". He absolutely loved the days of building the Garage Mahal, remembering Tony Mendoza carrying trusses like they were tinker toys.

He is survived by his brother Pat (Linda) Mahoney, his sister Laura Geary, special nephew Ryan Mahoney and many other nieces and nephews. Ryan and Greg had a special bond, he was like a son to Greg who didn't have any children of his own. Special mentions Nicole (Denys) Warren and Tylyn (Paul) Moore, children of Sue Bruce. He was preceded in death by brothers Vince and Paul and both parents.
