SUMMERSETHarlan L. Kassube, 56, died on Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Rapid City Regional Hospital. Harlan was born in Germany to Emil and Irmgad (Rehm) Kassube on October 24, 1957. He grew up in Rapid City and attended Rapid City High School. After school, he was employed in the construction industry for many years until his health no longer enabled him to work. He married Ruby Sinclair on April 17, 1987. He enjoyed coaching his kids and grandkids in softball and baseball as they were growing up. He also enjoyed bowling, golf, fishing and camping. Harlan was a big Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. He is survived by his son, Alex Kassube, Rapid City; two daughters: Amanda (Tom) Ruddy, Rapid City and Christa (Rebecca Hernandez) Kassube, Rapid City; two brothers: Carey (Debbie) Kassube, Rapid City and Bill Kassube, Hill City; four grandchildren, Alexis, Abagail, Madison and Zander; a niece and 3 nephews, Emily Randall, BJ Kassube, Vince Kassube and Casey Kassube and his special pal, his Corgi, "Penny." He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Karen in 2009. Visitation will be from 4-6 pm on Thursday, April 10, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home Services at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 11, at the funeral home with Rev. Herb Cleveland officiating.
