Harlan passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk, NE. Harlan was born on March 25, 1933, at Inman, NE, to David and Vera (Brittell) Morsbach. He graduated from Inman High School, then served during the Korean War in the U.S. Army from May 22, 1953, until March 23, 1955 as a Tech Sergeant. He married Carol Jean Odden at Hill City, SD, on May 28, 1955. Harlan worked for Northwestern Bell in Rapid City, SD, as a lineman and repairman. He retired in 1984, and moved to Inman in August of 1984. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Board member of Telco Credit Union, and the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Rapid City, SD. Harlan enjoyed competing in horseshoe tournaments and woodworking. He is preceded in death by his daughter Angela (Morsbach) Hedrick, 1 grandson Drew Harlan Morsbach, and his parents. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carol, his son David Morsbach and wife Deborah of Oconomowoc, WI, 4 grandchildren; Chad Morsbach, Nathan Morsbach, Justin Morsbach and Adrian Suarez, 2 sisters; Mary Breiner and husband Phillip, of O'Neill, and Lois Ries and husband Jim, of Canby, MN, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 23, 2014, from 7-9 P.M., with an 8:00 P.M. Rosary at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill. Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 11:00 A.M. Thursday morning, April 24, 2014, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in O'Neill. Interment will be Friday, April 25th, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Rapid City, with military honors provided by the Rushmore VFW Post 1273 and the SD Army National Guard. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
