Obituary

Mrs. Hazel K. Burr, of Rapid City, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, March 26, 2009. Mrs. Burr was born in Strandburg, SD, was a graduate of Strandburg High School and moved to Rapid City as a young woman. She married Wesley H. Burr on April 28, 1944, and they moved to McKeesport, PA, after his graduation from the SD School of Mines and Technology. She and her husband moved back to Rapid City upon their retirement. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 64 years, Wesley Burr, a son Michael Burr of Alvarado, TX, a daughter, Linnea (Wade) Bickford of Aiken, SC, four grandchildren, Stephanie Burr of Killeen, TX, Meghan (Brandon) Payne, currently serving in the US Air Force in Germany, Matthew and Laura Bickford of Aiken, SC, a loving sister, Leola Morgan of Rapid City, a special niece and her husband, Janet and Harry Keeney, who helped her so much during the last several years, and several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Gertrude Rosedahl and Grace Rehn. Visitation will be from 4 until 6 p.m. on Monday at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home, 2700 Jackson Blvd. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis. Memorials made be made to Rimrock Evangelical Free Church, 12200 W. Highway 44, Rapid City, SD.
