DEADWOOD | Hazel Lillian Fox, 96, Deadwood, died at the Rapid City Regional Hospital Tuesday, July 24, 2012. She was born Jan. 24, 1916, in rural Viroqua, Wisconsin, the daughter of John and Lizzie (Johnson) Hanson. She was the fifth of nine children and she was born on her father's birthday. Hazel married Lloyd Fox on Jan. 24, 1934, at Waukon, Iowa. Survivors include two sons, Keith Fox and his wife Doris, Rapid City, and Verlin Fox and his wife Carolyn, Houston, Texas; two brothers, Richard Hanson and Donald Hanson, both of Janesville, Wisconsin; a sister, Darlene Olson, and her husband Ole, Janseville, Wisconsin.; a brother-in-law, Harry Fox and his wife Mary, Viroqua, Wisconsin; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 11, 2000, following 66 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents and five brothers and sisters. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 27, at Grace Lutheran Church in Deadwood, with Rev. Gordon Goldammer officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time at the church. Interment will be at Oakridge Cemetery in Deadwood.
