MOUNTAIN HOME, AR- Hazel Ruth Gillett, 101, a resident of Mountain Home, Arkansas and formerly of Rapid City, South Dakota passed away December 6, 2014, at her residence. She was born September 12, 1913, in Blairstown, Missouri to the late Perry and Hattie (Davis) Armstrong. Hazel was a homemaker and also worked outside the home most of her life. She was a resident of Edgemont and Rapid City, South Dakota for about 83 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 75 years, Everett Scott Gillett; four sisters and three brothers. Survivors include her son, James (Janet) Gillett, Rapid City, her daughter, Geneva Edwards; Mountain Home, Arkansas; three grandchildren: Mark (Dottie) Gillett, Sheridan, Wyoming; Suzanne (David) Rietz, Billings, Montana; Todd (Sheryl) Gillett, Rapid City; seven great-grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 12, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 p.m. with the Rev. Herb B, Cleveland officiating. Interment will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
