RAPID CITY- Our beloved mother, Hilda Selina (Ellefson) Van Mill Jackson, 96, passed away on February 18th, 2017.
She was born on the farm near Barnesville, MN, to Minnie and Martin Ellefson, on May 31, 1920. She graduated from Barnesville High School in 1938, and married Charles Van Mill on July 2, 1939. They farmed in the Barnesville area until 1944, when they moved to Grand Forks, ND. A lifetime of moving began when Charles worked in construction, beginning with the move to the Rapid City area in 1951. After retiring in 1985, she moved back to Rapid City to be closer to family. In 1992, she married Clarence Jackson, and they were active members of the Canyon Lake Senior Center, dancing and playing cards. Although they traveled to Alaska, Australia, and Hawaii, the highlight of her travels was a trip to Norway in 1998 with her four daughters.
She enjoyed volunteering, and was a faithful Lutheran churchgoer.
