Obituary
Iris A. Brownrigg, 93, died Friday, December 2, 2016 at her home in Rapid City.
Iris was born December 12, 1922 to Irvin and Laura (Schoonover) Sidebottom in Easton, Illinois.
After graduating high school, she graduated with a Bachelors degree in teaching.
Iris married Ernest Brownrigg, Jr on January 16, 1946 in Long Beach, CA after he returned home from WWII.
They moved to Rapid City in where she began teaching school at Douglas. Iris began her second career of volunteering with AARP, helping people with their tax returns for almost 30 years, something her children were very proud of their Mother, giving to others.
Iris is survived by her children; Jim (Betsy) Brownrigg, Montrose, CO, Roberta Bennett, Denver, CO and Bob (Colleen) Brownrigg, Rapid City, 7 grandchildren; Shirley, Michael, Jessica, Erica, Jeremy, Jeffrey and Justin, 5 great grandchildren, her brother, Eldred Sidebottom, 2 sisters; Mary and Vida. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest in 1992, her parents, 2 brothers; Kenneth and Omar.In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Cornerstone Mission.
