Jack L. Binger, 87, of Rapid City, died Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at the Ft Meade Community Living Center from complications of pneumonia, emphysema and Alzheimer's.

He was born May 4, 1928 at Tulare, SD to Leigh and Luella (McDonnell) Binger.

Jack served in the Philippine Islands with the US Navy during WWII.

Following his service, Jack married Irene Goeden and together they had two children; Cindy and John.

In his younger years, Jack was very active in bowling, hunting and fishing. He was a charter member of the Metropolitan Lions Club and a life member of the Elks Lodge. He married Carole Novak in Rapid City on August 3, 1968. With Carole, he enjoyed many hours on their houseboat, "Saint and Sinner" on Pactola Lake.

Jack was a residential and commercial painting contractor for more than 25 years as "Binger Painting". From 1975 until 1995, Jack worked through many name changes as a salesman for a local Ford dealership; Frontier Ford, McKie Johnson and finally McKie Ford.

Jack is survived by his wife, Carole Binger, Rapid City, his daughter, Cindy (Dale) Hansen, his son, John (Special friend Michelle Brady), grandchildren; Christy (Jason) Jaros of Duluth, MN, Cory Hansen, Rapid City, Becky (Tony) Munoz, Denver, Lisa (Rick) Hamilton, Rapid City, Robert and Marie Binger of Colorado, 9 great grandchildren and a niece and a nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Leigh and Luella (McDonnell) Binger, his brother, Richard Binger and his sister, Jean Steilen, a nephew and aunts and uncles.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00pm, Monday, April 11, 2016 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home with Rev. Barbara Novak officiating. Entombment will be at the Black Hills National Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the U.S. Navy and Rushmore VFW Post 1273.
