Jack Brookens, 89, died at his daughter's home in a suburb of Sacramento on Friday, August 29, 2008. Survivors include his daughter, Linda Koontz of Sacramento. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marie Brookens in 2003 and a son, Robert Brookens in 1999. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12 at Black Hills National Cemetery with Rev. H. B. Cleveland officiating. Military honors will be provided by Rushmore VFW Post 1273.
