Jacqueline M. "Jackie" Ryan, 85, of Rapid City, died Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the Rapid City Regional Hospice House.

She was born on December 17, 1931 in Eagle Grove, Iowa to Hans and Izetta (Gallagher) Watne. She was raised and educated in Eagle Grove, graduating from Eagle Grove High School in 1949, continuing her education, graduating from Eagle Grove Junior College.

On June 3, 1951, Jackie was united in marriage to Robert Ryan at the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church establishing Eagle Grove as their home. For 25 years, Jackie worked for the Evangelical Lutheran Church as church secretary, retiring in 1994. She was a member of the New Hope Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove and the South Enes Lutheran Church in Vincent, Iowa and actively involved in women's groups at the church over the years, as well as the Eagle Grove Women's Club, Gardening and Bookworm Club. Jackie enjoyed quilting and knitting, making many memories for family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Christine (John) McDowell, Rapid City, her son Scott (Cheryl) Ryan, Burnsville, Minnesota, grandchildren; Ryan (Amanda) McDowell, Horace, ND, and their children; Emily, Colton and Maggie, Danica (Austin) Graham and their children; Grace, Gwen and Jack, Gillette, WY, Molly (Mic) Dunston, Bend, OR, Alex Ryan, Scottsdale, AZ and Luke Ryan, Dallas, TX, her sister, Wanda Glade, Dows, Iowa and her sister in law, Jeannette Underberg and her husband, Kenneth, Livermore, IA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at New Hope Lutheran in Eagle Grove. Inurnment of her ashes, as well as Roberts', will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.

A memorial has been established to Hospice of the Hills or charity of your choice.
