Obituary

SPEARFISH – James Dean "Jim","Meech" Dieterle, 65, passed away at his home in Spearfish, SD on Thursday, April 27, 2023.

Jim was born on Wednesday, February 12, 1958, to Harry and Arlene (Briggs) Dieterle in Rapid City. He attended school in Hill City and graduated from Hill City High School in 1976. Following high school, Jim attended a radio broadcasting school. He worked in a variety of jobs throughout his years and later, settled in Spearfish.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Harry Dieterle and life partner, Cynthia Burnett and his niece. He is survived by his children, T.J. Dieterle (Karla) of Box Elder, Daylene Flaherty (Mike) of Anchorage, AK, his mother, Arlene Dieterle of Hill City, brothers; Fred Dieterle (Chris) of Washington, Larry Dieterle (Debbie) of Minnesota, sisters; Barbara Hall (David) of Maine, Peggy Butler, Pam Fowler (Garold) and Carla Skiles (Scott) all of Hill City. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, a great-grandson, many nieces, and nephews as well as other loving family members and friends.

Jim was a man who never met a stranger and would always make a point to remember a birthday.

He was dearly loved and will always be remembered.

Family and friends are invited to a funeral service on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with a luncheon following.  Services will be held at The Little White Church in Hill City.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the church and burial will follow the service at Hill City Cemetery.
