RAPID CITY- James Theodore "Ted" Elyea, 53, died Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at home. Ted will be remembered for the love he shared for his family and friends. He was always willing to lend a hand and help out. Ted had a distinctive giggle that would let you know he was near. He loved his Harley Davidson motorcycle and hunting and fishing. He served in the U.S. Air Force. Survivors include his wife, Carmel "Mo" Elyea, Rapid City; one son, Justin Elyea, Grand Forks, ND; four daughters, Christie (Roy Clark) Shire and Patricia Elyea, both of Farmington Falls, Maine; Jessica (Keith) Carlson, Rapid City; Crystal (Joel) Walter, Bismarck, ND; father, Leo D. Elyea, Backus, MN; mother, Martha Reevey, Berthoud, CO; one brother, Mark Elyea, Virginia; three sisters, Marilyn Farrell, Carr, SC; Marty Rushton, Colorado; Samantha (Scott) Johnson, Richfield, MN; and 11 grandchildren: Brittany, Joey, Brayden< Kacey, Adyson, Levi, Ethan, Annie, Jadlynn, Brooklyn, and Haley. Graveside services will be on Friday, June 8, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at Black Hills National Cemetery with Military Honors provided by Ellsworth Air Force Base Air Force Honor Guard and the Rushmore VFW Post 1273. A funeral procession will be leaving Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home at 12:45 p.m.
