Rapid City – James "Jim" Moore, 76, died Sunday, May 4, 2025 at the Monument Health Rapid City Hospital.

His Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be 10:00 am Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.

His Burial Service will be 10:00 am Friday, May 9, 2025 at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis with Full Military Honors.

James "Jim" Albert Moore was born 10-4-48, in Mitchell, South Dakota to Merle and Charlotte. Dad was surrounded by his loved ones when the Lord called him home on May 4th. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Merle & Charlotte (Bedford) Moore, a daughter Sherilyn, brother William, sisters Donna, Deanna, Carol, and Betty.

Jim was born in Mitchell, SD. He was the 6th of 7 children. Jim lived in the country until the age of 18. Jim went to Mitchell Sr. High and graduated in 1966.

Jim proudly served in the US Army. Enlisting in 1968 and retired in 1990 as a CW4. Jim had a very adventurous life while in the Service. The army had sent him all over the world.

Jim affectionately known as Grandpa. His favorite word was being called Grandpa. Jim leaves behind his 3 son's, James (Diane) the oldest, David (Elvira) the middle child, and the youngest Will. He absolutely loved and adored all 4 of his grandchildren.

Jim was loved by those near and far.
There are no goodbyes for wherever you are, you will always be in our hearts. To love Jim was to know him.
