James Michael Varnadoe, 78, passed away on January 21, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He departed peacefully at University of Colorado Health Center in Aurora, Colorado.

Born on November 23, 1946, James Michael Varnadoe touched the lives of those around him with his strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit. Despite facing the challenges of his illness, he remained a beacon of hope, a hero to his loved ones and inspiration to all who knew him.

Throughout his life, James Michael Varnadoe embodied kindness and compassion. His selflessness and generosity knew no bounds, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of friends and family alike. His legacy of love will be cherished by all who had the privilege of sharing in his journey.

James Michael Varnadoe is survived by his wife Klom Varnadoe and their children: Kanchai Sanlaeid and wife Ganya and stepdaughter Aisha, Mem Hunter, James S. Varnadoe and his children (Dakota Varnadoe, Dainon Varnadoe and wife Ana Varnadoe, Micah Varnadoe, and Aaron Varnadoe), Thomas Varnadoe and wife Starr Iron cloud and their children:(Latia Varnadoe and her children: (Andres Varnadoe, Avian Varnadoe, and Elijah Varnadoe), Thomas Varnadoe, Sayla Varnadoe, and Boon Thai Varnadoe, Moses Dodge, Austin Varnadoe, Carmen Varnadoe and her children).

His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, and his strength will continue to inspire generations to come.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 29, 2025, from 5-7:00 pm at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home: 2700 Jackson Blvd, Rapid City, SD and a Celebration of Life at 6:30-8:00 pm at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1273: 420 Main St., Rapid City, SD.
