Jamie
Liechti
March 29, 1963 – November 10, 2023
Jamilynn (Jamie) Liechti peacefully departed this world at the Hospice House on the morning of Friday, November 10th, 2023, surrounded by the loving presence of her mother and daughters.
Born on March 29th, 1963, in Rapid City to Dawn and Wallace Lere, Jamie was a graduate of Stevens High School, Class of 1981. She carved her path as a business owner cleaning homes in the Rapid City area. Additionally, Jamie embraced a part-time role as a bartender throughout her life.
A devoted mother, Jamie leaves behind a legacy of love through her four children: Cody (Rachel) Lere, Zach (Chelsea) Bunker, Taylor (Jacob) Liechti, and Marissa Liechti. Jamie found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly in her passions for cooking, baking, and gardening. Her kitchen was a canvas, adorned with scribbled recipes inspired by the cooking shows she loved. Jamie cherished her time in the Black Hills, exploring and camping with her loving partner of over a decade, Lenny Raben. Her infectious smile, sense of humor, and compassionate nature endeared her to all who knew her and had her collecting friends everywhere she went.
Jamie is survived by her mother, Dawn Mazzio of Lead; siblings, Jody Javersak, Jeanne Apelseth, and Jon Lere of Rapid City; children, Cody Lere, Zach Bunker, Taylor Liechti, Marissa Liechti of Rapid City; fiancé, Lenny Raben; lifelong friends (and partners in crime), Loretta Eiesland and Cindy Brooks; and her two beloved cats, Taco Bell and Tip. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her father, Wallace Lere, and stepfather, Pietro (Pete) Mazzio.
A celebration of Jamie's life will be held on Friday, December 1st, 2023 at 12:00 PM, at Osheim and Schmidt Funeral Home, with a reception following the service at Kelly's Sports Lounge (825 Jackson Blvd).
