Rapid City - Smart, strong, beautiful, witty, kind and compassionate. Thursday Nov. 12th, Jane Parsons died and joined her husband of 56 years, Dick Parsons, leaving behind a class act for her family to follow. Life adventures took her from DeSmet, SD to Fort Wayne, IN; to Portland, OR, to the Republic of Trinidad , where she met Dick Parsons, and then onto the Philippines, Bolivia, Venezuela and finally back to the US where she raised her family in Maryland. She is now reunited with Dick and their son Jeffrey. Her remaining three children, Andrea "Andy" Parsons, Richard Steven "Steve" Parsons and his wife, Carol and Leslie Gail "Casey" Brittain will forever miss her humor and spunk. Her grandchildren, Sam Parsons and his wife Allison; Kate Parsons, Erica and Patrick Brittain, along with twin great-grandsons Grant and Cole, will no doubt continue to learn of her through innumerable stories known by many throughout South Dakota, Maryland and North Carolina. While time will never allow Jane's numerous personal pulpit' stories to be shared in this space, her family and friends will do their best whenever a good time is to be had. The family invites you to attend a memorial service at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home, 2700 Jackson Blvd., on Friday, November 20 at 10:00 a.m. At 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. ("tea time") on that same date, a Celebration of Life will be held at Murphy's Pub, located on Main Street to share memories and laughs. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of your choice.
