RAPID CITY- Janet Rae Schreter, our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend, and sister in Christ was welcomed home into the loving embrace of her Eternal Father in Heaven on February 2, 2013. Janet was born on March 28, 1939 to Ella Viola Caswell and Leo C. Caswell. Janet grew up in Canton, SD and graduated from Canton High School in 1957. Janet went on to attend the Sioux Falls School of Nursing and graduated with her degree on May 12, 1960. Janet met and married her beloved "Al" Albert L. Schreter on May 11, 1962. They had three children, Douglas Schreter, Debbie (Schreter) Bair and Jeffrey Schreter. Janet continued her career in nursing sharing her giving spirit with countless others until her retirement. Janet loved caring for and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Janet had a love of gardening and any type of craft, whether it be crocheting, needlepoint or knitting. She may not have been a chef, but she always had a recipe for any type of dish you could imagine. Janet is survived by her children, Douglas (Cheryl) Schreter, Red Bluff, CA; Debbie (Mark) Bair, Woodland, CA; Jeffrey (Sharleen) Schreter, Rapid City; two step daughters, Pamela (Ray) Reiss, Java, SD and Charlotte (Monthye), Montana; grandchildren: Ramona & Roy Reiss; Kyle Bair; Elizabeth, Matthew, Laura, and Eric Schreter; Amber and Jasmine Boyd and two great grandchildren, David Bair and Michael Stangle; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of which loved her dearly. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Ella and Leo Caswell; brother, Lauren Caswell; husband, Albert L. Schreter; and beloved grandson, Kevin Bair. A Celebration of Janet's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 1, 2013 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home with Rev. Kyle Goings officiating. Inurnment will be at Black Hills National Cemetery.
