RAPID CITY | Janice Baumeister, 80, died July 24, 2017.
Janice Schneider was born on April 18, 1937. She married Lyle Baumeister on June 6, 1964, until his death in 2016. Janice had a lifelong love of rock hunting, camping and gardening. She especially loved her flower gardens. Her love of rocks was evident in her decades of dedication to writing a rock bulletin and many other publications. She enjoyed showing her rock collections and teaching others.
Survivors include daughters, Betty (Craig Waddington) Dunaway and Kara (Kyle) Halverson; grandchildren, Jesse Dunaway and Sierra Dunaway; and great-grandson, Hayden Hernandez (with another on the way); and sister, Marjorie Magoon.
Graveside services will be held at a later date.
