HOT SPRINGS- Janice Neugebauer passed away on October 28, 2017 at the age of 82.
She was born to Fred and Mable (Rudy) Engler on May 28, 1935 at Pukwana, SD. She graduated high school in 1953 and Parks School of Business in 1955. She worked at Black Hills Packing Co. in Rapid City as a Sales Secretary.
On June 10, 1956 she married Lloyd Neugebauer at the Zion Lutheran Church in Rapid City. They lived on the dairy farm at Hermosa until 1961 when they moved to a farm on the irrigation project at Oral, SD. They operated a dairy until 1995. In 2004 they retired and built a new home near Hot Springs. They traveled frequently going to ten Navy Reunions and visiting family. She was a lifelong Lutheran, active at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hot Springs.
She cherished her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; her parents; and two brothers: Ronald Engler and Noel Engler.
Grateful for having shared her life are her sons: Steve (Genie) Neugebauer, Oral; Duane (Dawn) Neugebauer, Billings, MT; daughters: Sharon Hausman, Hot Springs; and Valerie (Jim) Sword, Hot Springs; sister, Enzie (Bob) Jacobson, Rapid City; 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hot Springs.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 2, at the church with Pastor Art Weitschat officiating.
Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery near Oral.
A memorial has been established to the Hot Springs Ministerial Association Food Pantry in Hot Springs.
