Obituary

MILESVILLE - Jason J. Fenhaus, 37, Milesville, died Friday, Oct. 24, 2008, near Milesville. Jason was born August 6, 1971, in Rapid City, to Carlos and Charlotte Fenhaus. He attended Rapid Valley Elementary, North Junior High and Rapid City Central, graduating in 1990. Jason developed an interest in rodeo while in high school. He won the State High School Bareback Championship titles in 1989 and 1990. Following high school, Jason continued to compete nationally for several years, turning pro in 1994. After rodeo, Jason went into the building construction trades, excelling in carpentry, tile setting, concrete, painting and finish work. He was most recently employed at Norsvin Farms. Jason's hobbies and interests included sketching, sculpturing, wood carving and leather work. He was an avid rock and fossil collector. Jason's love for horses never ceased. Jason, Kirsten and the children spend their free time riding in the country. He also enjoyed riding his Harley. Jason was united in marriage to Nichole Jansen in 1993. To this union two daughters were born: Kaeley in 1993 and Abby in 1997. Jason met his life partner, Kirsten Stillwell and daughter Alyssa in 1999. A son, Jade, was born in 2001. Survivors include his children, Kaeley, Abby, Alyssa and Jade; his fiancee, Kirsten Stillwell, Milesville; his parents, Carlos and Charlotte (Olson) Fenhaus, Hermosa; four brothers, Harold (Gwen) Fenhaus, Carlos (Cindy) Fenhaus Jr. and Mark Fenhaus, all of Rapid City, and Matthew (Lacie Cain) Fenhaus, Indiahoma, Okla.; three sisters, Angela (Kevin) Morgan, Spearfish, Christie (Stan Anders) Oster, Union Center, and Charlotte Murphy, Rapid City. Additional survivors include his extended family and numerous friends. Jason was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and his nephew, Richard Fenhaus. Jason will always be remembered for his quick smile, sense of humor and cowboy spirit. Services were at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28, at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Rapid City, with the Rev. Ron Garry officiating. Burial was at Mountain View Cemetery in Rapid City.
