RAPID CITY--Jay R. MacArthur, III, 59, died at his home on Monday, January 12, 2009. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Survivors include 4 daughters, Jalynn Johnson, Dyess AFB, Abilene, TX and Candace Archer, Karla MacArthur and Christina Johnson, all of Rapid City; his mother and step-father, Ethel and Merle Palmer, Rapid City; a brother, Dennis MacArthur, TX; a sister, Joanne Farwell, Idaho and 5 grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan 20, at Calvary Lutheran Church with Rev. Dwight Stensgaard officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Rapid City Elks Lodge 1187.
