Obituary

She was born in Artesian, SD to Limbert and Johanna Sibson on July 12, 1930.  She was one of six children raised on a farm outside of Mitchell, SD.  She lived on the farm until she and her sister, Margaret, moved into town.  She attended Notre Dame High School in Mitchell becoming homecoming queen her senior year.

It was on a blind date that she met her future husband, Duane.  They were married 41 years and had five children.  Terry, Neil, Jeff, Pam and Brenda.  They started their married life in Mitchell, SD.  During their years together they lived in various places but their favorite was Rapid City.  Jean had numerous jobs during her life with the last being Duane and her opening and operating Winlectric in Rock Springs, WY which she worked at until her retirement.  However her most fulfilling job of her life was raising her five children.  After her retirement, she moved back to Rapid City where she filled her days volunteering for the Sheriff's Department and Rapid City Regional Hospital.  For pleasure Jean loved working in her yard and flower gardens.  She and Duane enjoyed the outdoors and camping and loved weekly square dances.  She also loved games, especially bingo. On Sundays she loved watching football and was an avid Broncos fan.  She loved animals and her favorite was her little dog Mia. She always looked forward to cooking and baking when family visited.    Her Catholic faith was an important part of her life.  She lost her life's love and husband, Duane, at the young age of 62.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Limbert and Johanna Sibson, an infant sister, Marie, her siblings Leo Sibson, Elsie Hemmer, Herb Sibson and grandson Chris Vaughn.

She is survived by her children Terry (Mari) Danielson, Neil (Tammy) Danielson, Jeff (Patty) Danielson, Pam (Kevin) Watts, Brenda (Jay) Herman, siblings Margaret Pierson and David Sibson, 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
