Jean Elizabeth Torve passed away Saturday, April 2 nd 2016 at the age of 86 at Clarkson HealthCare.

She was born in Baker, MT to John and Ruby Olson. Her own family had 9 kids, five brothers (who all served in the WWII and came home) and lived in Montana and North Dakota.

She graduated from Baker High School and worked in Miles City where she met Kermit. They were married on April 24 th , 1955 and moved to Rapid City in 1959. Kelvin was born in 1960 and Kenton in 1962. She worked as a secretary at Flanagen Insurance and Calvary Lutheran Church.

Jean was the support for the Torve family activities and household. Her own interests included painting with watercolor and oils, she most enjoyed their 20+ years of traveling south in the RV for the winter, and was a constant supporter of Rapid City including Calvary, Post 22, SD Tech and the high schools. Her greatest quality was unselfishness and her gift was to serve her family tirelessly and without complaint

She was preceded in death by her parents, seven siblings and Kermit. She is survived by one brother Dale (Mesa, AZ) sons Kelvin (Tonya), Kenton (Lisette) and seven grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 am on Monday, April 11, at Calvary Lutheran Church with Revs. Herb Cleveland and Becky Piper officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Black Hills National Cemetery.
