Jeff Wright "Jeffro" Gogue, 41, of Rapid City, SD passed away unexpectedly on September 1, 2025. His sudden loss has left a deep void in the lives of all who knew and loved him.

Born on October 24, 1983, Jeff was the youngest of his siblings and carried a joyful, lighthearted spirit that touched everyone around him. Known for his bright smile, signature laugh, quick wit, and ability to make people laugh, Jeff brought humor and warmth wherever he went. He had an unmatched love for his family and always put them first.

Jeff met his wife, MaryEllen Freese, while in high school. They would happily spend the next 26 years together, recently celebrating 23 years of marriage on August 3rd. Together, they built a strong and loving home for their three children: Beau Freese, Aidan Gogue, and Carly Gogue. He was a devoted husband and hands-on father who never hesitated to provide for his family.

Jeff was an extremely dedicated and hardworking man; Casa Del Ray (1999 – close), Rushmore News (1999 – 2021), and Olive Garden (2006 until his time of death). In 2021 he established his own distribution company, proudly operating it with his wife and children.

Incredibly blessed to have shared his life are his wife, MaryEllen; children: Beau, Aidan and Carly; grandson, Lake Freese; mother, Vernaline (Liz) Gogue; grandmother, Virginia Lawrence; sister, Jennifer (Gogue) Baka; brother, Joseph (Cathi) Gogue; parents-in-law, Mike and Carol Freese; brothers-in-law, Andy (Monica) Freese and Mark Freese; sister-in-law, Emily Freese; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and life-long best friend, Jacob Kerns.

He will also be remembered by many extended family members, friends and colleagues who will miss his laughter, kindness, and unwavering dedication.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Jose Gogue; sister, Jo Gogue-Morakinyo; and grandparents, Vernal & Margaret Tolle.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home with a Wake service at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025 at St. Therese the Little Flower Church with Fr. Kerry Prendiville presiding.

Interment will be at Pine Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
