Jenn Olson, 81, Rapid City, passed away, in Spearfish, Saturday, April 19, 2008 after a lengthy battle with several health problems. She was born December 26, 1926 in Sturgis, the daughter of Melvin and Cathern (Seymour) Murner. She grew up in Rapid City and graduated from Rapid City High School in 1946. On February 6, 1947 she married Irving Olson in Rapid City. They lived in Woodland, CA until moving back to Rapid City in 1960. She has lived here since. Jenn enjoyed playing cards and watching baseball on TV. Surviving are 4 children, Kathie Baken and her husband, Bill, Felton, CA, Shirley Savage and her husband Dave, Whitewood, Tom Olson, Preston, ID and Debbie McCauley and her husband, John, Richmond, VA; 3 brothers, Bill Murner and his wife, Jo, Custer, Butch Murner and Marie, Rapid City and Jerry Murner and his wife, Sherry, Rapid City and 1 sister, Marie Casselman and her husband, Jim, Rapid City; 8 grandchildren, Billy Baken and his wife Stephanie, CA, Nicole Wyche and her husband, Jay, NC, Heidi Olson, ID, Pam Olson, VA, Crystal Olson, ID, R. J. Olson, Idaho, Brittany McCauley, VA and Katie McCauley, VA and 8 2/3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1996 and a sister, Mary Louise Murner. Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 23 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1:30 Thursday, April 24, at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jan Christensen officiating. Burial will be in Black Hills National Cemetery. Lunch will be served at the church following the burial. A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society.
