Obituary

RAPID CITY- Jesse William Baysinger, 89, of Rapid City passed away on February 19, 2018.

Jesse, son of Ray and Ruby Baysinger, was born in Wall, SD on March 17, 1928. He grew up in Interior, SD where he attended school and met Alice May Hillery. Alice and Jesse were married on May 6, 1951 in Rapid City and thereafter Jesse served two years in the U.S. Army in Korea. After being discharged from the service, Jesse and Alice ranched in the Badlands area for over sixty years, started a campground and motel business at Interior and raised three sons.

Jesse is preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Allen Hillery, sister-in-law and her husband Bonnie (Hillery) and James Leiby, and nephew Ronnie Hillery.

Jesse is survived by his wife of 67 years Alice Baysinger, sister Dixie Hillery, sons: Larry, Rapid City; Wesley and his wife Lupe, Arizona; and Clayton and his wife Linda, Rapid City. He is also survived by his grandchildren Isaac, Jesse, Nathan, Hillery, Taylor and four great-grandchildren.

Jesse was beloved by his family and friends and loved animals.

Jesse's family invites his friends to a visitation at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2018 followed by funeral services at 11:00 AM at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.

Interment will be at the 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 26, 2018 at Black Hills National Cemetery with full military honors. A procession will leave Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home at 9:15 a.m.

In lieu of flowers the family asks memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association or the Humane Society.
