Jill Renee LaCroix raced off into the sunset on Thursday, June 15, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Jill was the first of three children born to R.D. (Bus) and June LaCroix on July 18, 1952.  Her early years were spent in Rapid City, but she moved to other areas including Sheridan, Wyoming, over her life before settling back in Rapid City.

Gifted with many talents, she was a long time CPA and bookkeeper, abundant gardener, producing fabulous vegetables, winning first place ribbons at the fair for her artful basket arrangements and canning.  She made a 'killer' brisket that was enjoyed at family gatherings and will be missed.

Her passion for horses gave her the most enjoyment. Together with her mother they had many quarter horses following a racing circuit enjoying time together and winning from time to time. Jill took the reins to run the Time Out Lounge and Time Inn Motel after her mother passed in 2016.

Jill will be missed by her two brothers, Jack (Julie) and Todd (Cindy), three nephews (Max, Arie, Dylan) and one niece (Kendra); along with many more family and friends. Jill was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial in her honor has been established for the Hospice House.

Visitation will be from 5:00-6:00 pm on Monday, July 19, 2021 with a service following at 6:00 p.m. at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.
