Rapid City - JoAnn Lidman, 93, died Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital. JoAnn Beckley was born July 9, 1920 at Logansport, Indiana to Charles Nelson and Mary [Zartman] Beckley. She grew to adulthood in this area. She married Carl William Lidman on July 9, 1941 at Lead, SD. They lived lived in Lead, Royal Center, Indiana; Albuquerque, NM; Florida, Hermosa, SD and in Rapid City for 41 years. JoAnn followed her life calling of being a housewife, mother, grandmother, and a friend to all who knew her. If someone met her, there was always friendship formed. She was a wonderful cook, housekeeper and was known for her made from scratch angel food cake, which she would make and share with all. Her coffee pot was always on and fresh baked cookies for friends to enjoy. Survivors include: one son: Charles "Chuck" Lidman of Rapid City and his children: Lee Lidman and wife Gwen and their children: Garrett, Spencer, and Wendy Lidman and her fiancé Mike, and son Ivan; one daughter: Margy Froelich and her husband Larry of Mandan, ND and her children: Jim Aduddell and son Matthew, Bill Froelich and wife Deanna and their sons Sky and Joseph, Ed Froelich and wife Donna and their children: Josh, Kaleb, Michael, and KaraLyn; Dan Froelich and son Terry; Larry Froelich and his sons Jess and Chase. Also her nephews Joe Jr. and Chick Beckley, sons of her twin brother, Joseph. Her grandchildren were special in her life. She will be missed by her special neighborhood friends, esp. Laura Duncan and Carol McCoy. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Carl William Lidman on July 9, 1993, grandson: Terry Joe; her twin brother Joseph, sister Mary Jane, and brother Charles N. Memorial service will be 10:00 am Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery at Sturgis. The family and friends want to thank Chuck for all the love and care he has provided for his mom, JoAnn, for the last 16 years.
