RAPID CITY--Joan E. Jo' Booth, 74, went to the angels on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at her home. She was born on June 17, 1938, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Francis M. and Ruby (Bsharah) Slater. Jo grew up in Sioux City and the family eventually moved to Rapid City. She attended her last year of high school her and graduated from the Rapid City Catholic high school in 1956. Jo then attended school in Boston for a short time. On November 30, 1957, she was united in marriage to Wayne Booth. Jo was employed in several local food and beverage establishments. In 1972 she began her career managing Gil's Sun Inn Lounge and continued to do so until 1997. In 1998 she moved to the Rodeway Inn at their Regency Lounge and continued working until her retirement in 2006. Jo was very involved in many community services and with her children's and grandchildren's school and sporting events. She was a member of Catholic Daughters and Cathedral Parish and enjoyed taking care of her lawn and garden. Survivors include her children Don (Rachael) Booth, of Garner, Iowa, Shawn Booth and his significant other, Nancy Schooley, of Gregory, Pam (Ed) Adamson and Toni (Kirk) Oliver, both of Rapid City, and Tina Cienki, of Lewisburg, Pa.; 11 grandchildren, Echo, Patrick, Amber, Daniel, Christopher, Paul, Brandi, Meghan, Sarah, Chelsea, Zack; six great-grandchildren, Eli, Jazmyn, Jaydin, Brock, Genevieve, Bentley and many other special "extended family." She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Gerald Slater. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., with 3 p.m. funeral services on Wednesday, May 8, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home with the Rev. William Zandri officiating. Burial will be at Pine Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
