RAPID CITY | JoAnn S. Miller, 77, died Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at Rapid City Regional Hospice House.

JoAnn was born on Sept. 6, 1940, in Detroit Lakes, MN, to Adolph and Loraine (Witt) Krump. She was raised in Detroit Lakes, graduating from Detroit Lakes High School in 1958.

She met Darrell Miller through mutual friends and they married on Sept. 9, 1961, in Detroit Lakes. They moved to Rapid City in 1963, where she was employed by Northwestern Bell Telephone and Darrell worked at Chevrolet. JoAnn was a devoted stay-at-home Mom after she and Lefty became parents.

JoAnn spent countless hours volunteering at Jodi and Scott's schools while they were growing up.

She is remembered as being generous to all and raising St. Bernards and Cocker Spaniels.

JoAnn is survived by her husband, Darrell "Lefty" Miller, Rapid City; her daughter, Jodi Johanson, Flandreau; her son, Scott Miller, Rapid City; four grandchildren, David (Gina), Daniel and Grace Johanson, all of Flandreau; two sisters, Bea (William) Manske, Edina, MN, and Bobbie (John) Roberson, Charlotte, NC; and two brothers, William (Lois) Krump, Morris, MN, and Peter (Joan) Krump, Loveland, CO.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Craig; sisters, Marlys (Bob) Haedrich and Toots ("Smitty" Smith and Harold Lemke); and two brothers, Norman (Marion) Krump and Chuck (Mary) Krump.

Memorial visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. followed by a Christian Wake service and recitation of the Rosary on Monday, April 2, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.

Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 3, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

A memorial has been established to St Jude's Children's Hospital or to the donor's favorite charity.
