Joanne Denham, 81, of Belle Fourche, died at the Rapid City Regional Hospital, Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014. She was born April 6, 1933 at Newell, SD, the daughter of Ralph S. and Kathryn (Schonfeld) Robbins. She grew up in the rural Vale, SD area and graduated from Vale High School in 1951. Following high school graduation, she attended Black Hills Teachers College at Spearfish. Joanne married Ed Denham on Aug. 20, 1955 at the Presbyterian Church in Sturgis. The couple resided in Fowler, CO for a brief time prior to moving to Belle Fourche in October of 1956. She was employed by Wells Fargo Bank in Belle Fourche, as a loan officer for a period of thirty-four years. She was also employed as a bookkeeper for her husband's business, Ed's Repair, in Belle Fourche. Survivors include her husband, Ed Denham, Belle Fourche, a sister Alma Lee Edwards, San Diego, CA; her sister-in-law, June Hodgs, Pueblo, CO and a brother-in-law, Fred Bock, Emmetsburg, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Darrel "Buzze" Robbins and a sister, Nancy Bock. Services will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014 at the 1st Congregational Church, UCC, in Belle Fourche, with the Rev. Del Neumeister officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be at 1:30 PM Tuesday, Sept. 9, at the Black Hills National Cemetery. Memorials have been established for the 1st Congregational Church UCC and the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Services are under the direction of the Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home of Rapid City.
