RAPID CITY | Joanne L. Shorb, 82, Rapid City and longtime Hermosa area resident, died Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017, at her Rapid City residence.

She was born March 22, 1935, in Rapid City to W. T. "Shorty" and Sylvia (Bertelson) Smith. She married Dallas Shorb Aug. 31, 1958, in Hermosa. The couple lived and ranched in the Hermosa area.

Survivors include a son, Clay Shorb, Hermosa; four grandchildren, Nicole, Matt, Trevor and Mark; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Larry Smith, Rapid City.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Glee; her husband, Dallas Shorb; and a sister, Jeannette McDermand.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, at the United Church of Christ in Hermosa, with Rev. Diane Janssen-Hemman officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the Church. Interment will be at Highland Park Cemetery, Hermosa. Services are under the direction of the Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.
