John J. Dennis, 83, Rapid City, died at Morningstar Assisted Living on Tuesday, August 11, 2009. He served in the US Army during World War II. Survivors include his wife Boots Dennis, Rapid City; a son, Robert Dennis, Washington, DC; a daughter, Michelle Dennis, Rapid City; a sister, Alice Shaykett, Whitewood, and a brother, Robert Dennis, Nemo. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home with Rev. Herb Cleveland officiating. Inurnment, with military honors provided by Rushmore VFW Post 1273 and the South Dakota Army National Guard will be at Black Hills National Cemetery.
