John Bernard Mowry 76 of Rapid City passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024.

The Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at St. Therese the Little Flower Catholic Church.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am Thursday, July 25, 2024 at St. Therese the Little Flower Catholic Church, with Rev. Fr. Kerry Prendiville as celebrant. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Greenhill Cemetery in Lemmon, SD. Online condolences can be left at www.osheimschmidt.com

John was born March 17, 1948 in Lemmon, SD to Walter Bernard and Pearl Marie (Rail) Mowry.

He worked for Nash Finch for 40 years.

He was a member of Saint Therese Church – The Little Flower, Charter member of the Knights of Columbus Rapid City #8025 Saint Therese Council where he served as Grand Knight and was involved in all their activities and would do anything that needed to be done. He led the Rosary and served as Eucharistic Minister. He also liked to travel taking a cruise to Alaska, a trip to Rome and many car trips around the United States.

John is survived by his sister Mary (James) Knapp of Scottsdale, AZ.

John was preceded in death by his parents, brother Roger Mowry, sister JoAnn Sulla.
