John Rose, 87, of Rapid City, passed away Wednesday April 28, 2021 at Monument Health Rapid City Hospital.

John Rose was born on April 18, 1934 in New Bedford, Massachusetts to John and Irene Rose.  He was the only child.

He joined the Air Force out of high school he played the drums for the Air Force band and continued to play after the service in many different bands. He said that playing those drums was his favorite hobby.  When not playing he would enjoy being out on the golf course or just hitting balls.  Playing snookers billiards was an alternative to the drums and golf and even once was crowned pool champion. Throughout his career he was a successful accountant.

John and Noreen were married on January 31, 1987 and just celebrated their 34 ^th wedding anniversary.

John is preceded in death by his parents John and Irene Rose, Step-daughter Jacqueline Wick.

She is survived by his wife Noreen Rose, two stepdaughters Barbara Swancutt, Jennifer Wick, and six stepsons, Jim Wick, Jeff Wick, Tim Wick, Tom Wick, Doug Wick, and David Wick.  There are 18 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 10:00 am Thursday, May 6 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with funeral mass at 10:00 am.

Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Rapid City.
