Obituary

JON MICHAEL WALTER ll, 28 years old, left the physical earth on Sunday November 20, 2022.

Born June 3, 1994, in Rapid City, SD, where he was raised, and lived most of his life. Little Jon was the first-born child of Jon Walter and Heather (Kirkhart) Trowbridge and came into this world as the most tender hearted, compassionate, and loving being, always showering his loved ones with hugs and kisses.

He was the happiest, energetic blazing ball of fire, who had no problem navigating the world on his own.

Oftentimes restless, Little Jon started channeling his energies into sports. He was a natural born athlete in T-ball, wrestling, hockey, football, and baseball.

Jon shared a mutual interest in car mechanics and racing with his father, and as an adult, he enjoyed working for a big truck mechanic shop. But Jon's most gratifying occupation was when he was covered in mud and grease, working tirelessly for days on end, as a Roughneck on oil rigs.

A few of Jon's hobbies and passions were artistic in nature, with his doodling, drawing, and tattooing. You would also find him tinkering with, taking apart, and rebuilding anything he could get his hands on, along with rock hunting for geodes.

Jon had the most engaging, and contagious big smile, and brilliantly beautiful blue eyes!

One of Jon's most beloved and endearing qualities, which will always be cherished and dearly missed, follows suite with the words of e.e. cummings: "The most wasted of all days is one without laughter."

Jon was naturally playful, and had an extraordinary ability to make everyone laugh, given any situation, no matter the circumstances…even if you were angry at the time.

Jon had a multifaceted personality. Being intelligent and clever, he was oftentimes too smart for his own good. He was very inclusive and could talk to anyone about anything.

Jon was a strong and courageous soul who danced to the beat of his own drum, didn't focus on the future, or let others tell him how things should go. Jon Lived true to himself, and in the moment.

"To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else - means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting". ~ e.e. cummings

In gaining his wings, Jon is joining who he referred to as "Jons' Baby", his brother Jason; aunts Wendy Kirkhart, Michelle Colbath; grandfathers Terry Kirkhart, James Walter, Al Kelts; cousin Matthew Kirkhart.
