RAPID CITY- Jonathan Edward Hamm, 34, passed away April 23, 2016 in Portland, Oregon from a tragic accident.
We lost our precious son, loving brother, amazing uncle, sweet grandson, and special friend way too soon.
Jon grew up in Rapid City and attended Rapid City Schools. He took part in many various activities including scouts, soccer, football, baseball, and always liked Batman and Star Wars.
After high school he moved to Portland, OR with friends. There he pursued his love for music, cinema, hiking, and biking. He was an avid biker.
Along with being a computer whiz, which helped him at his job and his music making and recording.
He was always so creative. He expressed his artistic talents through photography, painting, artwork, art shows, music and video venues.
We loved hearing beautiful melodies from the many different instruments he could play.
Jonathan was so intelligent and enjoyed deep thinking and passionate discussions of varied subjects. He was so interesting to visit with.
He loved to laugh and kid. He loved the Black Hills and appreciated the beauty around him and in others.
Jon was kind and tenderhearted, always willing to help others however he could.
Jon loved his family. His brother, Tony and he not only were brothers but great friends. Growing up he always was looking out for his little sister, Mikaela.
He had a special relationship with his niece, Alexis. They shared many memories and moments together.
Jonathan is survived by his parents, Donald and Ann (Mudlin) Hamm; his brother, Tony Hamm, sister, Mikaela Hamm; grandparents Robert and Rita Hamm and Mitchell and Darlene Mudlin; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his cousins, Mason Mudlin and Mathew Mudlin.
Jonathan was a great man. He brought sunshine to our lives and always made us smile. It was a privilege to have him in our lives. We will remember and celebrate his life forever. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be from 5 PM until 7PM, Thursday, May 5, 2016 at the Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, Friday, May 6 at the Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Pine Lawn Memorial Park.
A memorial has been established.
