IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jordan Allan
Brekke
December 28, 2002 – July 30, 2024
BLACK HAWK – Jordan Allan Brekke was born on December 28, 2002 to Brett and Krystina Brekke in Rapid City, South Dakota. His life abruptly ended on July 30, 2024.
Jordan enjoyed playing soccer at a young age and played throughout 8th grade. He loved to be outdoors any chance he could. Grandma Brenda taught him to ski at the age of five. From then on, he spent most winters at Terry Peak with grandma. He loved skiing but wanted so badly to try snowboarding. Jordan eventually talked grandma into snowboarding lessons but was sure to tell him that "She was NOT going to snowboard with him!" He quickly learned how to snowboard and loved it more than skiing. The rest of the year he was at Pactola Lake, hiking, cruising in the hills, riding his dirt bike, riding his bicycle, shooting guns or going for a walk. Three years ago, he brought home a puppy named Duke, that his mom told him "She was NOT going to take care of!" Duke quickly became his best friend. They were inseparable from that day on. Roughly six months ago, he met Kierstin and he was so happy. The three of them became inseparable.
He attended Sturgis Brown High School for part of his freshman year but finished high school online at his own pace. He graduated from Penn Foster in 2019. Yes, almost two years earlier than if he would have stayed at Sturgis High School.
After graduation, he worked at a few different places before beginning his career as a laborer at Great Plains Constructors.
Jordan will always be remembered for his integrity and genuine kindness. He was a protector of everyone he loved and cared for, especially his little sister, Jazmyn. She looked up to him so much and always will. He touched the lives of many, not only as a family member but as a friend as well. He even had a few nicknames. Friends called him "Brekke" and his twin cousins called him "JoJo." His physical presence will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Jordan is survived by his best friend, Duke; dad, Brett (Kathryn) Brekke; mom, Krystina Brekke; and sisters: Tia (Dylan) McBride and Jazmyn Brekke and girlfriend, Kierstin Zook. He also leaves behind his grandma, Brenda (Mike) Riegert; grandpa, LeRoy Brekke and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and one niece.
He was preceded in death by his grandma, Lois Brekke; grandpa, William "Bill" Hawn; great-great grandma, Violet Brekke and good friends Tanner Bruce and his dog, Sherlock and Paul Bryant.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 9, 2024 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.
