Jose D. Joe Cruz, 71, Rapid City, died peacefully February 25, 2011 at Rapid City Regional Auxiliary Hospice House. Joe was born in Guam April 19, 1939. He then moved to Rapid City in 1971 where he met the love of his life Gloria Cruz. Joe enjoyed fishing, camping, and being a wonderful family man. He retired from the Rapid City Water Department after 30 years of service. Within that time, Joe made a lot of really great friends that he considered family. Joe enjoyed singing and dancing which he can do now without pain. Heaven has one more angel now and there is one more star in the sky. He is survived by his wife Gloria Cruz of Rapid City, Brother Jesus D. Cruz and Sister in-law Ling Cruz of Guam and sister in-law Pamela M. Cooper of Rapid City Sons Joey C. Cruz of Guam, Vincent E. Cruz of Rapid City, David A. Cruz of Rapid City, daughters Rosiland Meno of Las Vegas Nevada, Arelene Meno of Las Vegas Nevada, and Theresa A. Bush of Rapid City. Nieces Lisa Conklin of Rapid City, Angelina Cooper of Rapid City, Nephews Johnny August Cooper of Keystone and Johnny E. Cooper of Rapid City. Many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his loving son Alan J. Cruz and his father and mother. Christian Wake Service will be held from 6 pm to midnight on Friday, March 4, 2011 at the Mother Butler Center in Rapid City. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 am on March 5, 2011 at Blessed Sacrament Church with Rev. Andrzej Wyrostek presiding. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery.
